Discovered this this morning.  Been spending most of the morning playing it. :D

You too huh? I think yours will be more impressive, since your Ideas are capitalized. ;)

But yes...it does make the mind wander.

Yup ... I can see a version of that , top-down view, with front/end turrets and side guns of various sizes, firing as they bear and come into range ... it'd just need skinning, very little development (i'd hope)

If one of our members can do it, that'd be awesome and is why I wanted to make sure I linked to it from here to get the minds turning. I'm more hardware, with a dabbling in spreadsheets. Beyond the occasional Excel formulas I can't code for anything, haha.

It's not quite that simple, Worktroll, but with a bit of work it'd be a pretty accurate online version of Leviathans that'd be dead simple to play. I showed my roommate Steambirds and she figured it out within seconds...although, granted, I have played Levs with her.

Indeed, I may appropriate this concept myself and twist it to my own nefarious ends. Moo hoo ha ha ha, etc.

The guns are a bit TO accurate now for a proper conversion, but it could work.  As is, I wish the game would show the actual firing angles and gun ranges in some way rather then me having to rely on my ever increasingly faulty memory for it.

I'd love to see it ... be sure to allow for squadron formations - tag ships to "follow the leader", and it would be very simple to handle massed battles.

Have you seen Gratuitous Space Battles?  Admittedly that's more about designing, since there's not interaction once a battle starts.

I'm just glad they did not make a online player vs player option. Otherwise I would not stop playing. Except for internet porn.

I'm joking....
