Just did a quick analysis of the membership:

Airmen Recruits:  92
Airmen:  14
Sky Captains: 8
Administrators: 6
Whale Island Instructors: 3
House of Commons: 2
House of Lords: 2
Sky Rear Admiral: 1

So there's actually more special members than active members...

How do you mean? I'm seeing 106 regular members (Airmen and Recruits), 3 Demo Team folks, 14 Mods and Admins, and 5 writers and developers.

I was seeing 92 signed up but not done much yet, 14 with enough activity for a promotion, and 22 with some sort of title unrelated to number of posts.

It was just that I kept seeing Sky Captain on half the posts, and wondered whether there were really that many.

The ratios will swing towards the "normal" members rather quickly. The "special posters" are rather involved and is shows since these forums are rather new. This is just my take.

You also can't tell how involved each member is based just on rank.  Some people sign up and don't say much for a while, and some people signed up yesterday, but only have fifteen posts already.  Not enough for a promotion yet.

All true, I just see patterns in things, part of the human condition.

Give Randall time...I am sure he will come up with 15 pages of rules to describe it ;)
(You could say that is a joke..but, in Battletech, Tactical Operations and Strategic Operations were supposed to be one book, and what is now being called Interstellar Operations was supposed to be Strategic Operations...but Randall 'over-wrote' TacOps to be two books worth of content.)

There is a secret cabal of designers who's sole job is to hit Randall with two by fours if he comes up with to many ideas....

Sadly I'm not in that cabal. I'm the guy in the corner behind Randall who keeps whispering "Wouldn't it be cool if?"

To Randall's credit he's been pretty good about hitting me over the head and telling me to shush. Well on anything to do with Leviathan, there were those rules for the next BT Core book...

The French learn rather slowly..they did finally figure things out when they became a nuclear power, though..all missiles pointed at Moscow, and any attack from anyone into western Europe to be concluded to be from Russia....
