We're working on a proper starter page, but the obvious place is with the free torrent download of the Lieutenant's Manual:
http://catalystgamelabs.com/download/resources/CAT31000a_Leviathans_LtManual.pdf.torrentPart of the great thing about the BY-NC-SA Creative Commons license is sharing is perfectly legal. We stand behind our product and know that if you like it, you’ll support the line through future purchases. You can also pay to download the Lieutenant's Manual from the Battleshop at
www.battlecorps.com, or e-shops like Drive Thru RPG rpg.drivethrustuff.com
The Lieutenants Manual provides everything you need to get playing - a full basic ruleset, some (smaller) maps and counters, and ship cards to play with. But wait, there's more! Additional supplements can be downloaded from the Battleshop or Drive Thru RPG:
- two "James Fighting Ships" excerpts, offering more British & French ships to fight with
- excerpts from the Universe Primer that will be in the full box set
- two "Printable Fleet" reinforcement sets - these provide large-scale maps (1.25" hexes), and 3-D ship counters which can be used for all published ships so far.
And once Randall's finished the final wax & polish, we'll be releasing the Channel Campaign, a campaign game (suprisingly!) allowing two players to represent light squadrons from both the British & French clashing in a period of escalating tension. And it'll be free!
I think that's it at the moment ... oh, sorry, some more free stuff which is not essential to play the game, but you may like anyway. These are $0.00 purchases from either e-shop:
- the Introduction to the game & universe
- the Development Primer
- the Beta version of the Point Value scheme.
And then, don't neglect to click on the Blog link, or just go to
www.monstersinthesky.com to read the several fiction series, and admire the art.
Obviously, we're all looking forward to the box set coming out next year with minis, getting the material in DTF form, and the release of additional fleet units (after all, there are 8 major Air Powers to contend with!). But there's no reason not to enjoy yourself in the meantime with the goodies listed above.
Cheers,
W.
