British/French Printable Fleet add-on Name & Type markers
(1/1)
pianobar:
I'm not sure how many people have tried large games using the British and/or French Printable Fleet packs, but for me I've found that in a cluster of blocks it can be somewhat difficult to quickly discern which ship is which...especially once you are using Type 2's & Type 3's.
To make things easier in my games I've created a set of markers, Corner Tiles really, to place on the top bow edges of the printed block. In this way, each ship is not only easily marked on top by size, but also by name. Since it's just a corner piece that can be taped on, it also makes for an easy "upgrade" to previously printed blocks.
I've attached a .PDF of them to this post, and it has tiles for both corners but you can always use just one if it suits your fancy. ;) In my placement, I have the #'s aligned front-to-back, similar to the ship itself, with the name of the ship readable as you're looking at the Port/Starboard side. I'd include a recent picture, but my color ink is low and I can't get a good new printout. Here's an example of my 1st draft though, before I turned the Type notice alignment. http://bit.ly/gnB3Hf
Let me know if you try it out and like it, or could see any need for improvements!
