I'd be a pretty hypocritical IP rights crusader if I didn't support folks who want their work released for free, too.
Aff. I completely agree there. I, myself, hate when you know something exists, but cannot get it in anyway, shape, or form.
Examples include the L5R 3rd Edition Player's Guide(I saw one ONCE, I did not have the money at the time, now, I cannot
buy it from ANYWHERE, not even E-bay), and many Spelljammer and D&D 2nd Edition sourcebooks. Catalyst is very good
about going through the old stuff and getting it available for people, even in PDF.
I view the Creative Commons as something that is just so new that, honestly, it just feels weird sometimes. And so, I buy the
Creative Commons stuff CGL puts out so I do not feel so weird, and so that I can help contribute to their profit margin, since we
all know: More money for the Game Line=More money it gets for development. And I want Leviathans and Eclipse Phase to be
games where I can go to GenCon with my kids and, maybe even grandkids and celebrate the 25 anniversaries with when I am celeberating the 45 Anniversary of Shadowrun and the 50th Anniversary of Battletech.
Now, how to figure out how to get the incentive for Crimson Skies to be brought back into print...
