Are we there yet?

Are we there yet?

Are we there yet?

Are we there yet?

OK

Have a question that I really need a answer to. In a video (see the link below) One of the guys interview about the game mentioned they are working on metal miniatures for future releases.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

http://steampoweredtv.blogspot.com/2010/09/roadtrip-socal-smackdown-2010.html

He says "hope to have"

But don't like the idea of metal minis

way too many bad experiences with them. I now avoid them like the plague. Ever drop one of them?

Any rate, is there any info on the box set?

Minis?
Images of the minis?
Release date?

The wait is starting to get painful.

:-X! Or else da monsta's gunna hear ya an' ye dunn wan'that!

I'd love to have a boxed set. With minis (which actually wouldn't be that mini, considering the board size and that they take at least two fields). And I'd really love them to be resin/plastic/notmetal ones...

Okay, I can't recall who is in the podcast - is that the one with Brent? - but there's been a misunderstanding. The Leviathans minis will be being made from high-quality plastic with high detail capacity. IIRC - and I am prepared to stand corrected - it's the same company and same plastic as the high-quality Thor and Loki plastic minis that CGL have made & sold. Anyone who's got them (including me) can tell you the plastic & quality is really good.

(Besides, at 5" long metal minis would weigh a ton, be lethal weapons in their own right, and would not be allowed past airport security ;) There may have been some confusion with the attempt to see if it would be practical to make plastic minis that 'hovered' due to rare-earth magnets cunningly inserted in the minis & stands, which I believe has been cancelled due to small drawbacks like losing data from nearby laptops/PCs, the tendency for gamers' metal glasses frames to fly through the air etc.etc. :D )

When? 2011. Although there's a temptation to say December 13th, 2012, just to make a point to the Nirubu crowd  8)

In the meantimes, thanks for your continued support & interest, and believe me I'm prepared to sacrifice as many minions as I can to get Levs out. Fortunately, though, minion sacrifice is under Randall's control ...

What colr is the plastic of those minis?

Grey?

Can I get away without paintin' them? I heard rumors that they may come with a basic bare minimum paint job in another thread.

I don't think costs will allow that since I remember hearing Randall say he wanted to have about (or aboot for the Canadians) 80ish?

or was it 60ish?

Either way I'm buying.

One last question. Are the minis solid or hallow?

I also hear rare earth magnets can be used as chick magnets.

The minis will be prepainted - a light base coat & some detailing, plus a wash. Nothing that couldn't be painted over if you want to go 'parade scheme' (like me! :) ). I'm guessing hollow, but it'll depend on the manufacturers - the bodies of the Thor and Loki minis were solid.

What do the loki/Thor minis look like unpainted? Asking because I am considering picking up Battletech for a side game. I have no interest in getting detailed with minis. Spray them Red and Blue just for color.  Practically blind out of my right eye so painting is not much of an option. At least not until after my surgery.

What do you suggest for minis to start out with? I want something with close combat, like the mechs that has a big saw in Mech Warrior (Wiz Kids). Looking to start with 2-3 minis per team.

Floating levs?
Hmm, doesn't sound too complicated...
I got some small and pretty strong magnets here. Add a solid base and some nylon-cord...
Could I get a free mini to try?

My advice would be to wait a few months, until the 25th Anniversary boxed set comes out. When it comes out, it'll be a one-stop product letting you play bajillions of Battletech games. It'll be about as complete as the Leviathans box, so you can imagine what you'll have available.

Lemme put it this way: 26 minis, for roughly fifty bucks.
...because that battleship's...well...FLYING.

Are we there yet?

Yes. Now get out of the car.

That's how my father would always respond to that question when I was a kid.
