Target Dice
« on: February 17, 2010, 05:30:47 AM »
Are the target dice supposed to be the same for all ships of a Type?

If so, why does the Faucon-class have the some bow/stern profile as a Type 1 ship, rather than all the other Type 2 ships?

Could it be to make up for the lack of a 'miss' slot?

Possibly, but personally I would consider the lack of a "Miss" slot being offset by the additional equipment gained.

I suppose that would make sense from a game balancing point of view. From a realism point of view on the other hand, a bit of extra equipment probably isn't going to make the ship that much wider, and therefore an easier target.

No, they do not all have to be the same. The change in dice could reflect a slightly thinner bow, for example. In other words, most Location Dice on a Ship Type will be the same...but there will be tweaks here and there when it's appropriate to help set a ship apart.
