Hello all, here's another newcomer to the forums!
I've always liked the steampunk genre and have also had an interest in the (real world) Pre-Dreadnought Era naval history and design (i.e. warships from 1880-1905 or thereabouts). So, it's no surprise that Leviathan's alternate history steampunk setting and combat focus caught my interest when I first heard about it (sorry, I don't remember where).
I ended up buying the QSR and printable fleet PDFs on a whim and finally found time to play a solo scenario a few nights ago. I hope to do an after-action write up at some point, if anyone's interested. In any case the QSR was very easy to learn, but not too shallow, and the rounds passed quickly. Most importantly, I had a lot of fun (yes, even playing by myself!) and now hope to introduce it to a few other boardgaming friends of mine. I'm really looking forward to the actual release of the boxed set and expanded rules!
Also, I have to mention that Catalyst Game Labs' decision to release the QSR under the Creative Commons License (or just making it available at all, under any circumstances) played a huge part in making me a sure customer. For instance, I'm also interested in Spartan Games' "Dystopian Wars" but they don't have any real preview material that I can find and they seem to require miniatures from the outset. The overall high cost of entry and not being able to even read the rules has made me put it aside for another time. With Leviathan's QSR, I was able to make/print all the maps, cards, and pieces I needed to play a short game. This let me KNOW that it is a fun game, so now I want the "real deal". Nice job.

So, um, hurry up.
